Here's the thing - a phone purchase is a personal choice. You need to get something that will make YOU happy. Don't worry about impressing anyone else.
As far as Droids go, there are a ton of them out there and they are all pretty much the same. I would go for the larger screen and a qwerty keyboard (again my own preference).
Be forewarned - multitasking on Android is no better than Symbian so you can't run more than 5 or 6 programs and performance will suffer (and yes I own a Droid tablet so I know this to be fact).
In the end - get what YOU want - not what you think will make other people ooh and ahh.
