Maybe I'm crazy, but I had to test out, how far one could go to resemble hildon-desktop@xfce4.8 I'm happy with the results, but this is still work in progress...




The menu is done with slingshot, both panels are xfce4-panels, nothing else. Compiz is doing the maemo-like taskswitcher-thingy in the top-left corner (not shown here). Clock plugin is cairo-clock,weather is a screenlet (clear weather). Compiz hides the panels when maximizing apps, for the ultimate maemo feeling
It feels at least a bit like using a grown-up hildon-desktop on my notebook
Now I'm working to get the maemo system sounds running with Xfce and get en par with the compiz effects...
