This is the coolest demo of object tracking that I have ever seen. Very generally useful, and incredibly fast.
I imagine that there's quite a bit of processing required, but I sincerly hope that ARM and SoC makers consider folding some of these algorithms into ultra-efficient DSPs, as this could be a fine addition to the modern mobile devices feature set.
Imagine this in Android? Ok, there it was.
One thing is certain, though. With the proliferation of cameras around, with this technology, the moment you show your face, you're tracked. It raises very interesting privacy implications, as well as terrifying war possibilities.
