The facility to have just shortcut backgrounds transparent has been turned off in CSSU. Unless you have a need for widgets to have a background like godofwar424 above, if you push the Widget Opacity down to 0 the backgrounds will disappear again
but by reducing the widget opacity to zero to get rid of shortcut backgrounds it makes some widgets like calender very hard to see depending on your wallpaper...so this is not an ideal solution.
