Unless you have a need for widgets to have a background like godofwar424 above, if you push the Widget Opacity down to 0 the backgrounds will disappear again

I know that's what I said above. But some people don't use widgets so it mat have been useful to them.
d-iivil has commented that he was going to ask them to put it back in.
