edit: I know "Linux" is just the kernel, but since the word is used sloppily more generally (often actually meaning GNU/X/$Desktop_environment/whatnot/Linux), a distinction needs to be made between Android and "real Linux".
It seems that KDE is working on a touch screen interface for small devices. This could be the start of what we are looking for.
