Noted this as well. I don't know when this happens.
Funny thing is, it happens with the original camera-app as well and
reproducable. Open the original camera-ui, change scene mode to
landscape, kill the app, open the app again and the first
image uses the flash altough the landscape mode has no flash
as default.
There's a really easy way to reproduce this:
- Make sure you're in a dark place/room
- Set the flash to never fire
- It will fire during autofocus but not when taking the picture, resulting in a really dark picture.

This occurs both with the stock camera-ui and camera-ui2, leading me to believe that it's a problem with the backend.
