You might want to look what the kernel-messages say after losing your connection. (with the "dmesg"-command).
I have had that problem with my wireless network too, but it seemed to be a problem caused by the router: after upgrading to a new firmware (in the router..) the connection seemed to remain stable. Maybe that could help you too.
