Also, (forgive me if you've mentioned this before) are you running Gingerbread? If not, you may consider taking a walk on the wild side and doing a flash (if indeed its available for that model), it's supposed to be quite an improvement over froyo in speed, battery life, and UI considerations. Plus, it has SIP built in(!) if you're interested in trying out some free/low-cost telephony.
*edit* the screen is excellent, very bright and crisp. I like it very much.

No problem. There are a couple of gingerbread roms available, albeit in beta. The flashing process isn't just reboot into CWR and flash, nor is returning to a previous rom. From what I've read, it looks like GPS doesn't work for gingerbread (yet) although I haven't read through the 40+ page threads yet either. Not a big deal-breaker, but there are other bugs as well. Seems they're waiting on more releases of gingerbread from samsung so they can get better ports.

I do keep an eye open, and once there is a more stable rom, I'll give it a go. Wouldn't be any fun to only flash it once . Froyo work has slowed as there are several stable, fast roms/kernels out. There is some work on a gingerbread port for my S7, so I may try it out there first.

Unfortunately, I don't find myself missing my N900 much. The problem is that so much of what I do with the Vibrant and the S7 "just works". Although I do like tweaking and playing, it's nice not to have to.
