Very good points. They certainly won't be suitable for more than basic computing. But, I think they'll more than adequate for those basic tasks.

I'm thinking perhaps openoffice type document editing (mobile office stuff is getting better). "Desktop" surfing without needing a to change settings. Running some more obsure / older programs not available in traditional mobile versions.

I'm also thinking a mobile/home media server. You could do a lot with linux, the hdmi out, usb hard drive, and a home stereo system. Think usb remote controls. Pick it up and go, taking some of your favorite/new media with you.

Notebook replacement for power users? Not yet. For average users? Quite possibly. In another generation? We'll still be looking for just a little more power.

But, I'm mostly talking about potential, and I've learned my lesson there.
