Maybe they changed it when they first went unlimited last year they got all pissy about what you had on your account they said unlimited was for serving web site files not using them as a FTP File Server. They probably had a lot of people complain and changed it.

I guess they could get "all pissy" about that, because there's a vague clause that says, "The customer agrees to make use of DreamHost Web Hosting servers primarily for the purpose of hosting a website, and associated email functions. Data uploaded must be primarily for this purpose." There's no mention of not using it as an FTP server, although there's mention of not using your account as a data backup service.

I'm sure they wont notice unless your were using several hundred TB or so.
