there is a patched version of maemo-mapper 2.5.1 which supports Yandex.Maps
(http://beta-maps.yandex.ru). These maps is much more detailed and recent for Russia territory.
Source patching is needed, because yandex maps projection scheme is differs from google
maps. Vanilla maemo mapper knows only about one possible projection, so this patch generalizes
repository projection, world size and units->tiles transformation, which would be very usefull for
future support of different maps with addressing different from google.

2guite: I published these patches and package on russian forums about three month ago and it is
quite popular and well tested. I personally use these repositories on everyday basis, and it
works smoothly. Could you add these patches in mainstream version?
