Most devices have 0.2F 3V capacitor instead of battery. It's funny issue, because faulty cap significantly reduces time on battery, I had this issue in N95-2 and my PSP. After replacing cap both problems - short battery life and clearing RTC after battery removing has been fixed.

If a defective cap drains the battery, does a li-ion battery also do?
Because Joerg_RW says the original is a li-ion battery not a cap. (post #1)
Also, he says we could replace the bupbat with a 3.2V cap, not a 3V.
Does this 0.2V makes a difference?

It's irrelevant anyway. My N900 has been lying dormant for over two years
