I found my text messages in the Events table. It's in column that's far back. You have to scroll all the way to the right.

Any idea what causes this? Very annoying

No idea of the cause but this solves it for me - saves rebooting:

Close all conversations windows then,

Code:
rm -rf .mozilla/rtcomm
pkill rtcom-message-ui
Then restart conversations (it will reinstall rcomm extension in mozilla, dont worry
