Macs are not that bad. Nokia has supported Mac's from early days. Flashers are available as well as some sort of Mac sync utility
But in short the problem is solved (just by rerunning the same command, without disturbing the usb connection).
I did follow this as per the wiki page

where it says
In my case the error was different, but the solution worked.
