Are there any Tizen Z1 owners here ? I am on of them ...and looking a way to get an (used) sim card from india ?

Here in the UK, you can buy a new pay-as-you-go SIM card in any supermarket. It usually comes with no credit so you also buy a top-up voucher. You put the card in your phone, call a given number, type the numbers from your voucher and hey presto, you are connected. If you used cash and a new unlocked phone (or one from an anonymous source such as a charity shop), the entire transaction is completely anonymous.

Maybe other countries are not so lucky? Maybe you need to "register" a SIM card first?

The reason is that z1 is only for indian market and to be used at least one india simcard should be in one of the 2 slots ...

How is it ? well it's too early to say ... but I can say I keep n9 in my pocket

As a big samsung hater , i assumed tizen os would be a piece of junk and would be full of lags and bloatware but surprisingly enough for me , tizen os is very optimized ! its fast and smooth and the multitasking on it can be compared to that of nokia meego phones (i kept 27 apps running in background and no lags and apps where all running and not paused like windows) . though sailfish os clearly takes the cake in terms of live multitasking ,tizen does it in a fast way . If nurtured properly .. tizen would easily dethrone android . but if again samsung decides to ditch tizen os like bada , then its just bad .

Greetings TMO, been a long time. Stumbling into this thread because these days I'm carrying the Tizen-wearable, the Gear S.

Its interesting to read all of your thoughts towards Tizen. At the same time there's a sense of hopefulness - the whole "yet another Linux platform" thing - and sense of dread - "we don't trust Samsung to give us a well designed platform we don't see how to monetize clearly." I get it, and to some extent, want to throw my hat into the fray.

Most platforms need simply to address a core comms or productivty question. Its not a platform answer, its a behavior answer. Samsung has done nothing to speak towards why Tizen makes certain connected-devices-behaviors better. iOS is morphing, and Android is trying to fight its way upmarket after essentially being the cheap and easy alternative. If you want to see Tizen, SailfishOS, or whatever platform, work - it has to be more than FOSS, more than being backed by world governments (though that does help), and even more than having fans who push developers to release full and half-basked stuff.

Tizen, if this community wants to speak anything positive into it, needs to show how it can and does answer whatever the next steps in computing needs to be. I've got the hardware, and a few answers... who feels like building the future you think Samsung should have marketed when they made this platform a part of their focus.
