With the rebranding of XOHM to CLEAR under the Sprint/Clearwire merger finalization on 12/1/2008, we're changing our name from "XOHM Users Group (DC)" to "WiMAX Users Group (DC)" to open it up for future name changes by our providers or additional WiMAX providers.

To allow for not only us, but users outside of Facebook, we now have our own website at:

We may start doing WiMAX product giveaways at our user group meetings and for new users signing up on http://www.wimaxdc.org/. The giveaways depend upon our interest, number of users, and sponsors.

To start with, I'll currently offer:
* one (1) XOHM USB Adapter
to be randomly given away to an attendee at our next WiMAX Users Group meetup.

Any other giveaway ideas or meetup suggestions?

Giving away a free Nokia N810 WiMAX Edition to an attendee is currently outside of my budget or that of our fledgling users group, but as membership and interest grows... who knows?

I'm trying to "prime the pump" with interested users in the MD/DC/VA area interested in WiMAX, XOHM, and now CLEAR. With the help of our various members, I'll see if we can't do something at each meetup.

You don't need to own a WiMAX device in order to be a member or to attend, just an interest in WiMAX. If you're able to attend one of our meetups, perhaps you'll get a new WiMAX device, or at least hands-on experience with others' devices?
