The best cure for a trojan on Windows is formatting the drive and putting linux on it.
Stop wasting your time with OS maintenance.

also, the computer that i was on wasn't actually my computer - it was a relative's computer - i hate Microsoft products with a passion

@giladmttw: We have lots of people who use Windows, Mac OS X and/or Linux on the desktop here for various reasons . Why don't we leave the OS/distro wars for other forums to cover...
