after several "not available" messages for N900 users where telling I thought about setting up "professional" mirroring would be usefull for our community repositories.
For this we need:and maybe a policy (we should follow what ubuntu and debian does).
- an official mirror list in our wiki
- rsync at the repository.maemo server
- requests send out to mirrors (univerities) all over the planet
For this we could setup:what do you think?
- a mirror URL for traffic sharing (forget it, apt is not able to follow http-redirects...how do I cross text?)
- regional mirror URLs
- nokia to include it with HAM to have a fallback for future server issues
