Dear all

I have n900 since 3 years I have purchased from the market and was pre installed with some of an application in advance.

I am who follow this site and learned, benefited from it so much and I thank all those who support it to make it a success and that has given us a glimmer of a great hope

I notes that when i got to application>setting>about communty SSU:
Community SSU installed
Version: 21.2001.38-1Tmaemo3.1
Flavor: Testing

Is that correct or not I try to install the stable CSSU but it's not working.

or

I must uninstall this CSSU testing and install the CSSU stable but how to do that without affecting or lost anything from my device.

Please your help is highly appreciated.

Regards

Essam

I believe once you are on the "testing", the only way to undo is to flash the unit. link: (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=84829)

testing version is fine. it only means that you get new features a bit earlier.

you are using correct version of CSSU. Version which is in your phone is very old. Latest version is 21.2011.38-1Tmaemo 7.2.

And if you want to start everything from start then flash your device http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_firmware install CSSU-Thumb http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=84829

If the OP wants CSSU Stable, they will have to reflash PR1.3.1 and then install CSSU Stable.

If OP is happy on the more bleeding edge CSSU which forces features upon you, an update to the latest version is recommended. This is due to security fixes supplied with Tmaemo7.2

If OP wishes to use CSSU-Thumb, then this can be done from Testing. An errata-workaround kernel will have to be installed.
This means install kernel-power 51r1 first or let thumb pull cssu-k for itself.

For beginners instructions on a fresh generic "Stable" setup see below.

my advice is to go for option 3 of previous post.
cssu thumb and kernel-power simply do such a lot for your N900 experience, I'd never wanna go back - in fact these improvements saved me from getting all fed up with N900's lags and waits.
one more tip: remove adblock and ad-flash-block from MicroB!
if you're feeling extra bold, go for cssu-devel (may eat your brain!) and get the lastest improvements for MicroB engine - then its speed will just blow you away!
I'm about to add flop swap to the setup, more speed for swap!
