I can't seem to view pictures in emails. Is there something I am missing?

Are you using webmail through the browser or the built-in email program?

The built-in e-mail program does not support inline images for security reasons. If you want to view an image in an e-mail, you'll have to save the image attached to the e-mail by clicking on the filename at the top of the e-mail.
I believe Claws does support inline images however.
