When I click in a text field (e.g., HTML form input field, Notes app), no virtual keyboard pops up -- I can't enter text. I do have the input method set to "Virtual keyboard" in the Control panel's Text input settings. I tried setting it to "Handwriting", but that doesn't seem to work, either.

This used to work. What might I have messed up?

Thanks for your help.

Bob, try clicking on the field using your thumb and see if the virtual keyboard comes up.

Wow. Thanks for the quick reply, Reggie.

My thumb didn't initially pull up the virtual keyboard, but it did cause the 770 to reboot when I tried to log into Gmail. And now it works!

Thank you, thank you!

Another thing you can do, is press the button in the middle of the direction pad. That usually brings up the virtual keyboard.
