According to FedEx, my bluetooth GPS receiver should arrive on Monday.
I wrote my intentions in my blog:

Give me suggestions on other things you'd like me to try and I'll report back with my results.

Oh sure!
As soon as I order it, THIS happens:

I saw a Nokia GPS device today in CompUSA. It was $199. I wonder if this will get any support on the 770. It would be cool. But if it will be obsoleted by the gov't, then frigg that.

Current GPS technology won't be obsolesced by this upgrade. The satellites and receivers up there will be just fine for navigation and trip planning. If I understand this properly, this will take the accuracy level from "within yards" to "within feet."

GPSDrive seems to work very well, except that sometimes the cursor moves off the screen because the maps loaded are still 1024x768.

Don't bother with the Nokia GPS receiver - there is no good reason to get one and other makes have superior specifications.

Gareth: Can I load superhuge map images? Would that work?

No, all images all have to be a specific size.
