I've been searching for a while via Google and this site; and I've found some info about where to delete icons from the application menu but I can not find out how to control the icon sizes.

The icons for the apps already installed on the N810 are larger, I'd venture 128x128, but the moment I installed Transmission, Pidgin, and a few others... it seems like I'm stuck with those programs having much smaller icon size(s).

I'd prefer to have them all the same size... but no go. I've seen that I'm also not the only person that can not create nested directories. Any idea on how to do that?

And finally, how do you change the title information on the menu item shortcuts? Instead of Gizmo (Voice & IM), I could deal with just Gizmo and be done with it.

I've been in most places in the OS, but I'm not finding anything despite searching here, Google, and searching around the machine itself.

Thanks in advance.

The sizes of the icons are determined by the autor of the software. He/she has to add the additional sizes in order the panel can display them.

You can't add subdirectories in the applications panel, but you can add subdirectories in the bookmarks menu

There's no a GUI way to rename the applications items. I'm not sure, but to do that I think you need to go the terminal.

Can you please share how to remove items from the application menu? So far, the only way I have found is to install and then uninstall the apps.

Thanks.

1. To remove an item from the menu (or otherwise re-orgaize it try

Utilities => Contol Panels => Navigation (Panel in OS2008) then click the oganize button and drag and drop away.

2. To change icons you need to edit the /usr/share/applications/[app-name].desktop file. All icons are generally in /usr/share/icons/hi-color/hildon

3. Editing the apps .desktop file can also be done to change the way the name appears.

One word of advice. Make a copy of the file before you edit......just in case.
