Hi, I put full 2008 on my N800 last night after using the Beta since day 1.
The on board Map prog will not lock on to sats using my Bluetooth GPS, exact the same as under the Beta. Maemomapper was the same under the Beat but now will not even pop up! I then uninstalled is and tried to reinstall now it wont even do that.
Very upset
Help please

For one reflash, and do not reinstall from backup, but start again from a clean state. That MM won't start and can't even reinstall most likely means that your configuration is broken, and you don't want to transfer that to the new setup.

For the other: What Bluetooth GPS? Pairing successful? Does the device work elsewhere? Does it support NMEA?

Who is NMEA ? Not sure if it supports that as documentation is "limited"
Can't remember make of unit but only weeks old.
Pairing fine even with phone.
Nothing else to test it on.
Both Map and Maemomapper were working on old config, just hours to lock on.
Will re-flash without backup tonight if we think it will do any good? as Map is still the same, I'm not sure about this route but why not! I need the GPS side working.

thinking about it, in Map the bars of Sats come up and eventually populate. The GPS icon shows for example 9 sats visible, 0 in use. Then after hours 9 vis 9 in use. So it must be the correct format data? Think it's a BlueNext make model B001 ? that's what the Bluetooth ID shows.

Originally the standard interface for marine nautical gear, now mostly the standard protocol for GPS equipment...

Yes. If it takes ages outdoors, there is either something wrong with your bluetooth (which should be fixable by a reflash), or the device is of poor quality or equipped with poor firmware - the N800, Maps app and Maemo Mapper don't delay that in any way, as evidenced by the one or two minute TTFF I get with the LD3W or a Garmin nüvo.

Hmmmm May be able to swipe a Garmin nuvo.
Will try to link to that before a re-flash in case it is the hardware.

I've had the same problems with my Pharos igps-360. Works just fine with my mac, worked just fine with os2007. With os2008 it pairs, but that's about it. With enough fiddling I can get it to work with maemo mapper. I've had it work with the new mapping program, once, then it wouldn't work until I completely uninstalled the program and reinstalled, then it worked once, then not again.

Not just me then! Yes my device works on other phones.
Something missing in the code me thinks.
