Hi Folks,

Got enough maps loaded to be useful today and while running about I noticed that the time displayed in GPS display is off by about 4 hours from what local time (and tablet time) are. I think at one point it was right, but haven't looked at it for a while now until today.

Looked for someway to adjust it but came up blank.

Do I need to pull the battery out of the GPS and let it sit or what?

Perplexed...

Thanks!

The GPS system knows nothing of time zones, just universal time. You have to tell a program to change the time to local time. The tablet comes set to UTC by default, and if you don't tell it your home city, it thinks it's London. You have to tell the tablet the correct home time zone (using a city) and then MM should get the correct time. After setting the home city, you'll then have to reset the local time. What do you have set for your home city?

just curious is there 4 hours difference between your time and the time in Helsinki? the timezone file in the IT by default is the one for Helsinki and if you change this then applications like clock are always off (after reboot) by the difference between my time and Helsinki. Until I reset. then only the HW clock is off.

Well, sigh <blush>, idiot here .

BUT I did change the city every time I updated, heh, blush, cough, apparently with the exception of the last time I did it .

NO idea why clock was right though. I *may* be more confused than I thought I was .

Going to slither off and hide in a hole for a while after failing to check that. Senilty is just no fun at all

Thanks VERY much folks.

The time was right because you set it, either before or after the update. I can't recall if updates require setting the time again. It's not glaringly obvious that setting the time sets the home city, which isn't your home by default. I think the whole time app could be done much better, but it's not likely to change.
