Sorry about the cross post, but I thought it might get buried, so I'll ask this as a separate thread.

Has anybody gotten any of Gene Cash's applications to work with OS2008. They require Python 2.5, but just seem to go into the ether when launched.

I wish. they look great.
If you read the rant at the bottom of his page, though,
you'll see that he tried to get them to run under 2008 and gave up.
Four times.

Yeah. I agree. I really like the way they look. Unfortunately, I'm not a Python programmer, or I'd take his sources and see if I could get them to work. Oh well.

- these are wonderful applications that fill a big void in the maemo lineup...

- the more i explore the n8x0 offerings, the more i realize that os2008 is *not* ready for prime time... (osso-xterm is one example of a downgrade)

- ah well, maybe next rev, maybe this time next year?

There's a fledgling effort to port KDEPIMPI,
the stand-alone version of KDE's awesome Kontact suite,
but he needs developers to help.

Never mind OS2008; I can't get Gene Cash's calend app to work on OS2007. It starts up, says "Can't save data", and dies.

I tried the latest OS2008 (51-3 or whatever) but too many apps didn't run properly or hung or crashed. OS2008 isn't ready for prime time, IMO.
