I accidently discovered this and thought it was so great that I'd share
I use the N810 and have my most used apps on my KDE desktop. Well, did you know that if you press the first letter of the desktop shortcut using your handy dandy N810 keyboard that the icon for that app will get highlighted - then just press enter or return and the app launches
I've gone through and renamed all my desktop shortcuts so that they all begin with a different letter (instead of most of them starting with K) that way to quickly launch, for example, XMMS - I just tap the letter x and then press return and XMMS is launched. You can leave them all with their original names if you want and just press the letter repeatedly and it will cycle through all the apps that begin with that letter but I think that having specific letters for each app is quicker.
