Have a N800 and the recorder program was working fine until recently. It starts ok but when I clik the record button a empty box opened up on the top right corner and that's it. It will not record. Tried uninstall and reinstall still no change.
The only things that I can think of is I uninstalled ogg support to fix the Google Talk problem and recently I just installed the video camera. Can any expert here give me some pointers to get it going again. Really appreciate any help I can get as I am really new to this... Thanks

I think I had that problem a few months ago after the drive I was recording to filled up with recordings. I fixed it by going into the menu and saving the recordings to my SD disk which had space.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did try to save it to a different card but that didn't help. I am sure it is not because of space because both cards have more than 4 gs of space.

O.K. How much free space do you have on the N800 itself?

By default Maemo Recorder records to the N800's MyDocs directory somewhere. I was recording my teacher in a class for a few hours when suddenly the recorder wouldn't record anymore. After I assigned it to record to my SD card, and moved the previous recordings from the N800 to the card, it started working again.

But you may have some other issue that hopefully can be resolved.
