I have X forwarding working from my home computer to the N810, which is great! I would really like to be able to forward from the N810 to my home computer. It might be nice to type things on it using a full keyboard sometimes.

The problem seems to be that no matter how I set my ssh configuration files, it will not forward X over the secure session. When I log in my DISPLAY variable is not set, and even if I manually set it it still doesn't forward anything. If I log in to secure shell as "user" it opens the new X window on the actual device. Am I missing a ssh configuration somewhere?

Sorry to hijack the thread but gotta ask: How did you get X forwarded from the home computer to the N810? I've been using VNC personally, would you mind explaining how to forward X? I have Ubuntu Gutsy and N810. Thanks.

This is probably the bug you are talking about?

sign up and vote for it if you are getting the same thing.

BatPenguin: X forwarding is the ability to use ssh to forward a program from one X session to another X session. EG you log into you Linux box from the N800 from the command line like "ssh -X user@host"
and on that same command line you can type "firefox" and it brings up firefox on your N800, its actually running on the host PC but it forwards the output to that x session such as the firefox browser....

Did I explain it very well? there are plenty of websites in google that explain it better than me.
