My first post here, Rcadden told me about this site, so thought to come and check it out, I have searched quite a bit, and there are lots of articles/posts to read.

I don't need advice or anything on what to get, but I have been looking to get a device to complement my N95-3, and so far I have skimmed it down to N8x0 (BT) or Ipod Touch (Joiku).

I like the N8x0 because it's Linux, I have worked with Linux since day 1 (Slackware A1 disk back then if anyone remembers)... right now I do developing in Sun Solaris/Unix as well as Win32/Brew/PocketPC.

It's definitely a neat site, I think I wasted about 1 hour reading some rants about n8x0

Anyways, hopefully I'll make a decision in the next day or so... I was thinking first to get Ipod Touch and use JoikuSpot Lite on my N95-3 as a wifi hotspot, but now I am deciding more between N800 vs N810 (massive memory on N800 vs keyboard on N810).

I think I'd use the device mainly for browsing, videos, storing my programming ebooks/chm's (fbreader), ssh, pptp and vnc ... though I think exchange connectivity could be cool as well. Though I am a bit bummed about lack of gaming on the N8x0. I know there are games, but I figured Gameloft, THQ, etc would have done some work on the N8x0 but this is a geeky device, so it makes sense...

Anyways, chatting with you all later,

Houman

FWIW, if you don't mind old school, there are hundreds of possibilities with xmame... (or dare I really show my age with frotz much to the dismay of the kiddies?)

I am a little past mame ... you know with games like Bioshock or Halo3 but thanks for the heads up.

I ended up getting n800, it's pretty neat device.... can't wait to ssh into it.

Is there any port of ubuntu coming toward n800 ?
