I'd assumed the webcam would need more power than USB OTG gives.

If this works on my n800, maybe I can fit a webcam in my car as a parking aid.

Anyone know where I can find a list of modules that can be loaded with insmod as suggested in that web page.

My webcam uses a SPCA5XX driver, but I don't know what the .ko file is called.

Thanks Tekplay,

I can mount this module, I tried it with my Creative Webcam 3 (sensor OV7610) but without success. Do you know if this module has been compiled for Chinook or Diablo? (I am looking the one for Diablo). I also want to use a Sony Eye Toy (Ps2) who give some fantastic result with my Foxboard (embeded linux) but I need the module ov51x.ko (version: 1.65-1.11-mark).

Source: http://alpha.dyndns.org/ov511/download.html

I had no problem to compile this module on Foxboard SDK but, so I am quite lost with this process on Diablo SDK.

Can anybody give some tips to compile module or kindly compile this module for Diablo.

I thought the n900 lacked the hardware to "host" usb devices.

Earlier tablets had this capability but not the n900 but apparently you can do it in software - not entirely sure.

I don't think the webcam would work as a result!

I think you'll ifnd that this is mainly a Maemo4/N8x0/N770 thread and that is why this is possible. Couple of postings up the entrant mentions his N800.

I second fargus! This thread is located in "OS/Platform > OS2008/Maemo 4/Chinook - Diablo", means it is related to this OS and the devices it is used with. He is not asking for N900 stuff...
