I feel like a complete idiot. After many attempts, I cannot upgrade using an available PC (it is not mine and has MANY safeguards), the only other machine I have for certain available to me is a PowerBook G4 running 10.3.9. I do understand that the easiest way to upgrade is to use a PC, but for me this is not so easy currently.

Is there a way to upgrade directly? I was able to download files into my N800, but they cannot be read.

This is highly frustrating, and I don't really want to throw this thing across the room! ...help?

I don't really understand the issue here. Why can't you use the PowerBook to upgrade?

(Yes, flashing the device from itself is possible, but nobody has put together a system for doing it yet and it certainly wouldn't be a very userfriendly system if they had)

I believe the only ppc flasher binary is for 770 only or does it work with n800 too?

If the g4 is intel, just put xp on there.

Thanks to the wiki, I found directions, but I am having problems being recognized as having the authority to do anything.

I believe I have everything I'm supposed to have downloaded--it just doesn't like what I'm typing in.

...I'm not giving up yet...

flasher-2.0 works fine on all tablets and PPC or x86.

Code:
sudo flasher-2.0 -F <FIASCO image> -f -r

Lol, I assume G4's aren't X86 or rather you don't like me saying to use xp

Xp's flasher is pretty simple and handles things well for a noob.

But flasher-*.0 is pretty simple saying that, just need to use arguments.

Personally, I want Phoenix to work with my n800, then I could say goodbye to the update wizard in windows.

but /me is going ot
