The internet connections provided by many ISPs have the outgoing SMTP port 25 blocked, supposedly to prevent virus-infected computers from sending email spam. They permit mail to be sent on port 25 only via their SMTP server.

In this case your choices are:
1. Find out the SMTP server address for the ISP you are using (e.g., smtp.localisp.com) and use that instead
2. Find out if your preferred email server supports secure SMTP email on a different port number which might not be blocked (Gmail does for example, so outgoing SMTP mail via GMail's secure port number will work on many ISPs that block port 25). Looks like Yahoo does as well. See http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/sma...op/pop-22.html
3. Use webmail to send your email

I am having the same problem but with webmail, not SMTP client. I can receive mail but when I send mail, the browser bumps me off and redirects me to the login page. There is no error message.

The exact same thing happens when I update the firmware from OS2007 to OS2008.

Therefore, I think the ISP must have changed something in their webmail login, that the Mozilla browser of the Nokia cannot handle.

I also use Mozilla (Firefox) on my PC and laptop, and they never have any problems ever with the webmail of my ISP.

Apart from writing to my ISP, is there anything that can be done on the OS2008 Mozilla? Thanks.

Well I got a reply from my ISP - NONE OF THEIR PROBLEM because it is a 3rd party hardware/ software problem ... very helpful!
