What was on your internal memory?
Exactly how did you create the backup?
From the user guide, pg 17
Note that the following information, for example, is not
backed up:
• contents of the non-removable internal memory card
on Nokia N810 Internet Tablet
• theme settings, when you restore backups from
previous product versions
• Bluetooth connectivity settings
• browser settings
• installed applications

So, I go to removable, select Backup, go to "Tools" select backup/restore. A new page opens with Backup highlighted in blue. I hit the restore button on bottom, select (check mark) all applications and hit "OK". "Restore Backup?" "device will restart" appears...i hit okay. Goes through the motions, the NIT restarts...once restarted a "Restoring complete, 28 mb restored" window pops up. I hit "OK". Then "Application Manger require to re-install applications. Start Application manager now?" window pops up. I hit "OK" The the Application manger window pops up with 3 options "show installed applications" "Browse Installable applications" "Check for updates" I hit the "show installed applications" and 4 things come up. libuiw, map, osso-xterm, skype.

My question is this, are these things re-installed, and if so, why are they still listed as "backup" under File Manger?

Thank you all so much for all the help.
I would hope that if I made a backup, then did a restore, that the OS would not delete the backup.

I was just following the advice of the internet tablet school about the bug in the internal memory card...not internal memory. I just reformatted the internal memory card, not internal memory. Must remember, I'm clueless. Tried to reinstall the applications that i saved on the removable card back to the internal card. It goes through the motions, but its still listed as "backup" under the internal memory card.

I had the same problem but I had the choice of clicking ok. Try seting the device in red pill.

Also note, if the IT cannot find the application in the repo, it will not be able to automatically install it.

When I go to Backup under internal memory card, a list of .zip files opens on right. "applications.zip, backup.metad..., bookmarks.zip, contacts.zip, documents.zip, emails.zip, media.zip, settings.zip" I haven't put anything on here thats important. can i just go ahead and delete this stuff? thanks!!

I did not go to the school - http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...memory+corrupt
shows the way I did it -
Basically copy everything off the internal 2GB memory card, do a "Nokia file Manager backup" and then a File manager format.
If you had other data etc. on the internal 2Gb card you probably wiped it.
I thought most apps got installed on the root FS.
