I'm wondering if there is a way to have my N800 automatically run a script or command as soon as it detects any type of internet connection (that is weather the connection is BT or WiFi)

I use hamachi (www.hamachi.cc) on it and would like it to automagically do the "hamachi login" as soon as it sees a connection.

Yes; you need to use dbus-scripts; one of the examples it comes with runs on just that criterion.

It's a daemon. There's a sample file installed somewhere. Run dpkg -L dbus-scripts to see what files it installed. (I haven't got it on my tablet right now, sorry.)
There should be one somewhere in /etc/ you want to edit.

Thanks Benson I'll dig around and find it

As a side note I'd like to thank the community for how quickly they are to respond to requests from newer users, I've used linux for various functions for well over 8 years now and this is by far the most responsive community I've been a part of, every question I've asked has been responded to within 3 hours and a correct answer if there is one within 24.
