Hi,

I'm having trouble accessing my favourite news site which has been fine before. mobil.dn.se (Swedish). I get file download: application/vnd.wap.xhtml.xml
The N800 seems to think that I should open it with an application. All major Swedish mobile news sites started to show this behaviour at the same time. I suppose they changed their sites or something. Any ideas what I can do about it? I always used to read these sites in bed in the morning but now I can't any more.

/D

Did you change the browser's User-Agent?

No, not that I know anyway. How do I check that?

Ok. I checked that site out. They detect the OS2008 browser as a cellphone, which means you get the wrong content type.

The true fix is to contact them with a bug report. The workaround is to change the browser's user agent string (search the forums). Just about any string should work, but I know a regular firefox string works.

Ah, well that sounds about right. The site is primarily for cell phones. It's good for the N800 since it loads really quickly. The N800 has some trouble with a "full" news site. It works but takes a loooong time to load.

Anyway, thanks for the info, I'll give a try.

I found a string to make the N800 appear like an Ipod and it works better now, still some problems though. I have searched the forums back and forth but I can't find a Firefox string and I don't know how to make one myself. Anyone got one?
