Hi all. Well I did a search on this prior to posting but came up with two threads not related. So this is my problem I need help with:
I have N800 tablet with latest OS loaded and was trying to edit a spreadsheet in google docs. I can view it but when tapping on a cell the virtual keyboard pops up and typing numbers or text to add into selected cell doesn't work for some reason. Can anyone help with this? When I press the enter key on the keyboard it pops off properly but no text is entered into cell. Frustrating. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

Yes, Google Docs is nearly unusable on the N800. If you zoom out (80%), and make sure the portion where you are writing is at the top (I add extra lines at bottom so I can scroll up), you can type a little.
Alternatively, you can use the full screen keyboard. If you are editing existing text, just highlight it before bringing the full screen keyboard up.
If I recall, It's usuability is marginal anyway as you loose the cursor position when it re-loads every minute or so. There was a google gears port for maemo, but Google Docs wouldn't recognize it. I lost it when upgrading to Diablo and haven't bothered to re-install.

The short answer is to use the "mobile" google URL's (the ones with the "m") meant for phones. The regular google pages won't work for google spreadsheets.

Reading between the lines of the bug, I think that google spreadsheet doesn't present the spreadsheet cells as input fields, so there is no way to know to pop up the virtual keyboard.

I forgot about the mobile... I think you can only view the excel one, no editing. That may have changed sicne I tried last.
