for somereason i cant figure out..somehow a few tags here and there get screwed up so it throws my album art off.... if in windows i tick the box as "read only" for each file will that keep tag data from getting changed?

HI Munky : really strange, you can take a look into the scanner source (if yoou are a developer) but we really don't "write" any changes to the tag (AFAIK) if some of us are doing this..then I will pull out some ears around here. 
Do you have any id3 tag software also on the device?
