I recently received a N800 and everything was fine. It had the original OS2007 on it so i went to the Nokia website and did the official update to OS2008. After that the tablet was still great and I was able to use it for a week or two. I am moving to Virginia from California and my wife is in the passenger seat playing "marbles" and the touch screen stopped working.

I tried to power off and on but the "enter key lock code" screen is up and it also says "device locked" in the top right corner. So i research how to unlock it and it doesn't work at all (tap power and hit the select button.) I thought that since the battery had said less than 1hr that it was some sort of safeguard so I charged the battery fully and attempted again. No luck.

I decided to re-flash the N800 with OS2008 again and now every time i want to use the touch screen i need to tap "power" and continue touching the screen with the stylus or the screen locks up again after 10sec. Also locking the keys and touch pad don't work because it wont allow me to unlock them again. I remove the battery to unlock it but the screen still auto locks after 10 sec. I searched the forums for the past day for similar situations but no luck. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

Kurt

Do you have the autolock set?
Check Control Panel->Device Lock->Autolock period and disable it if it's enabled.

If it's a second hand tablet and you need to check what the lock code is or reset it then check this post.
