Isn't it a strange thing?

You have these tiny devices people bought as phones with tiny 2.0, 2.6 or 2.8 inch screens reading exchange email.

And there is this other device with a 4.13 inch screen that does not.

All from the same company.

Tell me Nokia is going to help the developers to change this.

S60 phones already have a calendar and notes app to integrate with exchange.

Maemo doesn't. It's an internet tablet, not a PDA, bla bla bla, you know...
I guess it's as simple as that.

I still think Nokia should have put PIM apps in the tablet, but I wouldn't use them so I'm happy with it anyway.

Could never quit see Nokia's logic in that arguement. Yea an internet tablet is an internet tablet, but a phone is a phone!

Given that Phones, Ipods (sorry!) and just about everything has a pim these days, and has had for years, it's an odd decision to leave it out.

This is more about nokia playing catch up with Windows mobile and blackberry by the sound of it, than straight calendar syncing with outlook which has been around since the year dot. My 6120 syncs no problem.

I'd much prefer my tablet to do it though!

If they put S60 to work on the n8x0... they work more fast against the os2008 right?

S60 is more light right?

Well, even now that they have a Symbian which supports touch-screen, maemo still offers better browser, better e-mail client, better IM support, much easier app installs.

Not sure if I'd give it up to run symbian apps on the tablet.

Android also recently announced this. Nokia is just keeping up with its competitors. N-Series tablets are not the group who require this feature, and are too niche. But in the future, as Symbian and Maemo become more compatible, I expect more software for each platform back and forth.
