Can someone please help me?

I have been dual-booting from a 16gb flash card for quite some time now (months).
However, today, the 1st partition (fat32) suddenly became read-only. I have looked at the lock on the card: it is unlocked. Can anyone help?

Thank you

It's usually ro when the swap file is corrupted or the card is corrupted. Try fsck.vfat on the tablet (after umounting) or just chkdsk it on a windows computer.

Thanks... but next time please warn me:

I just ran fsck, which fixed my problem. BUT: all the filenames and folders were renamed to 1ST6CHAR~1 ... to fit in the 8-char length limit.

WHY?

huh... it's kinda weird:
I booted from flash, and removed the swap file (i have a 350mb swap partition, but it's not used).
I booted from flash and got the following:
- names automatically fixed.
- card still read-only.

help!
