Anyone know if the Selfone project has any life in it?

It was supposed to be a app that would let you use your IT as a bluetooth headset, plus the features of phonelink essentially turning an N8x0 into a cellphone.

I personally really like the idea of having a cheap bluetooth phone that mostly stays in my pocket or backpack, and using my IT to make calls and SMS.

As far as I can see the bluez layers support this, it's a matter of using the Handsfree Profile or maybe the Headset Profile (not sure if Bluez has implemented this) to connect the devices.

Anyone know is Selfone is alive (or ever was) or if anyone is working on anything like this?

There's a previous thread on this, I had planned to look into this, but have been busy, Please do email the project members and see what their status is (actually do search for that thread first as I think they replied in there). I'd like to see this moving forward

That would be ideal for me also. I hope someone gets something like that working.

the guy who did BlueMaemo is pretty smart - he could probably tell us whether it's realistically possible or even do it!

I would make good use of a "speaker phone" type application. One more way also to show off my N800.
