hi, I've updated to beta 11 and I'm using n810 with software version 5.2008.43-7 but the problem is that last.fm is nowhere in the application though I've installed it. I tried uninstalling and re-installing but the same result.
Also, I tried to play movie with .avi extension of around 700mb, everything is excellent except that quite often screen seems to move like as if I'm watching slide show of images. I thought may be coz i didn't convert the file using IT video converter but when I play the same file directly from MPlayer everything is perfect. The only difference is that when played from canola it comes in fullscreen and with dark space filling up the upper and lower portion of the screen when played with MPlayer. So is there anyway I can configure canola settings so that I can get the same result as when played directly from MPlayer coz I think canola uses MPlayer to play videos anyway, isn't it? thanks

Canola doesn't use mplayer for playing videos (except for some exceptions that the internal Nokia media player can't handle) unless you tell it to do so explicitly by editing the file /home/user/.atabake/config and replacing "oms" by "mplayer".

thanks for the reply pycage! Ok, I think I got it. So there are lines like mp4=oms,3gp=oms etc under 'media' and video=mplayer under 'fallback' so does this mean that all file format not mentioned under 'media' will be played thru mplayer? If its true then I'm playing avi file which default media player can't play anyway so it is played thru mplayer, isn't it? If its true then why canola plays the same file in full screen mode with poor playback while playback from mplayer is comparitively better though its not in fullscreen mode? Coz as i got canola installed I want to run all the medias from it only but its kinda disappointing me in this one.

Perhaps Canola is having problems loading the last.fm plugin.
Have you tried running it from the command-line with 'canola -vvv' and watching the output for errors?

When Canola is playing the video in windowed mode, is it still slow? Do you know which video and audio codec are used for this particular file?

Cheers,

Thanks lfelipe for the interest on my both problems. I did canola -vvv and copy pasted the output to a file its vervose.txt and it contains all I can copy and paste from the x-term.

About the video and audio codec here's everything I could gather about the file:

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Type: AVI
First Video Stream:
958 Kbps, 672*272 (2.471), at 23.976 fps, MPEG-4 Visual (XviD)

First Audio Stream:
164 Kbps (160 Kbps), 48.0KHz, 2 channels, MPEG Audio (MP3) (Version 1) (Layer 3) (Joint Stereo)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I have used MediaInfo software to get the above information. Thank you.

Hun, gonna need a little bit more output than that. It would be easier to redirect it with 'canola -vvv 2> /media/mmc2/verbose.txt' and then attaching that file here.
Cheers,

Sorry about that, here's the file, a full one (I have to put it as zip coz it exceeded the limit of 19kb for a txt file). What about the video playback of the file I mentioned earlier, is there any solution for it? Thank you..

Hun, it's having problems reading the configuration file for lastfm. If you erase /home/user/.canola/prefs/lastfm, it should probably work again. Somehow that file seems to exist but is malformed.
About the video, is Canola using mplayer for it?

Thanks ifelipe, I tried doing as you said but as I cudn't erase the content of the file, I deleted the entire file and recreated it but with no success. So, I cleaned up canola using the canola cleanup tool coz before I just uninstalled it from application manager and luckily last.fm is now showing and about the video playback, it seems like mplayer is now being used for the video but gives different result than when played directly from mplayer. I tried with one animated movie, picture is fine when played directly from mplayer but from canola it looks like color is splattered all over the screen.
Beside, canola sometimes play the same movie in fullscreen though its real resolution is 700x272. Stuttering screen is there making it really unwatchable. I haven't changed any settings at all. Btw, how do I check if mplayer is being used for the video? Thanks
