I've read that the N8x0 can emulate various game systems. How do you get the actual game onto the handheld. (The GBA does not have a USB port or PC interface as far as I know for instance).

If you were to get the game files how would yuo load them onto the tablet. What are the necessary steps?

I'm interested in mario games.

I'd take that claim of being legal if you own the cartridge with a very large grain of salt. But, on the other hand, game manufacturers don't seem to care a whole lot about emulation of older systems.

As far as the Xchanger goes... Whatever game you want, you can be reasonably sure someone else has already extracted it from its cartridge. The ROM image is floating around the Internet somewhere. A short bit of time with Google should lead you to a bunch of sites, including some pretty shady ones. If you're doing this from a PC make sure your anti-virus software is up-to-date.

So, once you get the ROM image as a nice, neat file all you need to do is transfer it to your tablet, start the program, and load the image.

One caveat, the keys on the n810 are not well suited for action games. I have fun playing Pokemon on mine, but I don't think a platformer such as Mario would really work well. Just my humble opinion, you might find it works well enough for you.

I'm not sure how the emus work on n810. Basically, you need a .gba for gba or .nes for nes or whatever. Basically, google will help (the sites are generally paid for and stuff like that. So, find the exact name off the site and then you should probably download it off a torrent) There is no such thing as a virus in a ROM so, don't worry. There could be a virus in homebrew but only if the developer designed it that way... but that's different.

A good site is www.romsite.net it's only DS and GBA but, lets U download one free a day (and more if you know how to use a proxy correctly and get around download issues) or, just find info on the games and then use a torrent.

Technically roms and emulators are legal. For roms though, only if U own the cartridge. It's using them together that is debatable. It's not illegal but it's not legal. Don't worry, game companies don't care with older systems. Even if they did, the only thing the law allows them to do is get you to pay for the game (if you don't already own it)

There can be quite a number of worms on the site itself, so better not browse it with IE...
