I want to plug my Kaossilator to the N810 by using the mic entry. In this way, I should use my N810 to listen the music i play.
But what program will i have to use to listen the data transmitted by the mic entry???

Hoping it's not impossible.

Thanks

Thanks.
That's sad.
Is the problem due to hardware or software?
In the second case, what about finding a solution by using debian package with LXDE turbocharged?

Don't quote me on this, but I think it can be done via software (i.e., it's not a hardware issue).

At the moment, there's no software that can record from the mic at greater than 8kHz sampling; it's unclear (to me, at least) where this limitation is, and how practical it is to work around; I think I heard something about it being limited by code for the DSP core.

But if 8k is good enough, it should be fairly straightforward, and Debian should have everything you need; might even be as simple as:
Code:
esdrec -r8000 |esdcat -r8000
(Hardware-side, of course, you'll need an appropriate adapter and possibly level converter to get your output signal into the mic in.)

Factually, i don't need to record sound, i only need to use the n810 as a kind of speaker (the kaossilator needs additional speaker), but i'll try your solution.

Edit:
I tried and obtained :

esdcat : couldn't open sound file: r-8000
opening socket, format = 0x00002021 at 44100 Hz

the more i think the more i understand that all i need is somthing which make a kind of bypass between the mic connection and the speaker.
Does any of the media player have a "aux" mode, a bit like on HiFI?

That should be "-r8000", not "r-8000", and I may also have the syntax messed up; try putting a space after the r, like "-r 8000".

Exactly what we're doing. Esdrec rips the audio from the input, we pipe it to esdcat, which dumps it to the output. (You can also try to kick the sampling rate up by changing both 8000 to something else, once you've got it working, but I'm fairly sure that won't work.)

None of the media players integrate this (AFAIK), because at 8kHz it's basically useless.
