Alright, I've posted a thread already giving a rundown of what I'm doing, but I'll refresh those who aren't familiar.

I'm a producer/composer and I'm looking to start publishing my sounds/compositions as ringtones and alerts through several major outlets. That process takes some money though, and with no spare capital to do so with, I'm looking to the mobile community of which I am a part of to help me out.

I will post here on the talk board - for free - themed audio packs. An audio pack will contain a ringtone, sms alert, email alert, and IM alert. While I shoot to keep each file length appropriate (extremely short for IM alert, lengthy for ringtones, etc) my priority will be artistic consistency. Some themes may have longer IM messages than others, and some ringtones may contain more or less components than others. It will vary from pack to pack.

What will be consistent is the volume of the ringtones and alerts, the "neatness" of each sound (length, ringtones fading out instead of looping at an awkward point), and the overall clarity. These are original recordings made specifically to be ringtones, so the frequency response will be clear and optimized for playback out of small speakers. (So don't expect a great deal of bass if playing these sounds through other speakers).

Each pack is based on a single composition (usually completely encompassed in the ringtone) with each alert containing a component or interpolation of the original composition. The packs will be posted in two zipped folders. One folder will contain all of the alerts. The other folder will contain the ringtone. All files will be MP3s encoded at 128 kbps. Again, they are FREE. No gimmicks, no copy management. A handful of people downloaded the first pack with no issues.

So how am I going to make any money? Well, my goal is to give you something for nothing, and something better for a small price. There's no way to stop somebody from copying, and that's why I'm offering so much for free. However, I will have prepared with each free audio pack a premium version of the same pack. That means every file will be an MP3 encoded at 320 kbps. Along with a higher bitrate, the premium pack will contain an alarm interpolation of the same composition. The alarm sound will be ~45 seconds long and its mode will vary depending on the feel of the composition. "Softer" compositions will have an alarm that fades in and "harder" compositions will be more jarring and abrupt. The "Fly By Night" pack has no premium pack. It's just for fun.

And what will the going rate be for this premium pack? $1. That's fair, right? If you don't want the premium pack, enjoy the free tones and alerts and just let me know that you enjoyed them. If you're interested in a premium pack, send me a personal message or email me at supreuph@ovi.com.

And just so you know, I'm also taking to the idea of doing personalized ringtones by request. Need a specific sound? A certain sound at a certain volume? An MP3 song you've got but don't want it to sound like crap? Message me and we'll work it out.

Thanks, and enjoy.

Good stuff... I'll have to check them out when I get home. I can appreciate something like this as I wish to start becoming more heavy in producing/composing as well. Thanks a lot.

Nice work! I hope the business model works for you. I don't currently have any convenient way to make online payments, but if I did I would be more than happy to purchase the premium packs, and I like what you have so far.

Good luck!

Thanks man. I was going to suggest a $1 paypal payment for the premium packs. I jusr didn't want to put it in the post directly like that was all this was about. But hey, enjoy it.
