You can use usb networking

Some info on the N900 setup:

http://wiki.maemo.org/N900_USB_networking

For the PC setup, this page is supposed to give information:

http://wiki.maemo.org/USB_networking..._Configuration

You don't mention what OS is on your PC, I guess it's probably XP.

I didn't see much there about windows XP. It looks a bit confusing. I don't have windows so I can't help much with that. Maybe it just works

On a PC running linux, it's not too hard. You have to have usbnet in the kernel, but this is normal, you just get the usbnet interface up, allow forwarding and set up the routes with the usual commands.

You need to have root access on the N900 to do the command to enable usbnet (ifup usb0)

It just means you have to install the rootsh shell application.

Normally you would do this via the application manager.

If you can't get internet on your N900 at all, then this might be a problem!

There is a procedure for enabling RD mode itself via the flasher, but I think you should try all other options first.

I have to sleep now, so I hope someone can help you.

You need to copy the http://repository.maemo.org/extras/p..._1.5_armel.deb file to your N900 and install it.

You will need to use Red Pill Mode to do this so please read the information carefully. Bear in mind, I will not take responsibility if you mess up your N900. There is no reason this should do, but be warned as the N900 is intended to have software installed over-the-air without this kind of messing around.

As you already have accepted you will be using root mode however, you should already be well aware of the risks involved.
