I think we should start a list of incompatible or malfunctioning applications that don't work or only partially work on the N800. I will start off by saying that I have found most applications that worked on the N770 (OS 2006) work on the N800 as well, but I have found a few exceptions:

Xterm (advanced) version .13.mh13 from Maemo-Hackers available here:

http://maemo-hackers.org/wiki/OssoXterm

does not appear to work. It installs but promptly spews out an error if you attempt to launch it.

The older version of Xterm available here

http://770.fs-security.com/xterm/files/test/

works fine, but doesn't have several useful features found in the advanced version.

Andrew:

Sounds like a great idea to me. I for one am considering whether to "take the plunge, and what works (and doesn't) will probably make that decision for me, at the possible expense of those who jumped right in. Thanks, K.

I think it would be a good idea to have seperate lists of what apps work and what apps don't, not a combined list like on the wiki. I know that they have a seperate section at the bottom of the list for apps that don't work, but there are also plenty of comments in the "apps that work" section to the effect of "this app works, but you can't save files or well...do anything." That would be a "not working" in my book.

I agree, I'd suggest you restructure what's in the wiki already rather than starting another list, though.
