I snapped a photo earlier today and did some housekeeping. When I returned to the app I noticed photos were missing. The N900 then told me it was refreshing the media files. Still missing.

When I went back to the File Manager I noticed they are still there and in good working order. When I thumb up the list sorted by month, I noticed four photos now listed as taken January 1, 1970.

Has this happened to anyone else? Really disturbing.

Yeah, in my experience the "Storage Volume" setting doesn't always seem to take. I'm not sure about the OP's problem, as I don't know much about that part of Maemo, but I think Tracker is responsible for finding images, is it not? ... -shrug-

... mine did exactly the same thing ... I took a whole heap of photos on the 1st of Jan 2010 ... and about 10 out of 40 have been dated as the 1st of Jan 1970 ... which mean's they're listed much earlier in my photo application than the ones they should have been stored with ...

Well, I am glad I am not the only one. I find that rebooting the device daily helps. I assume you shouldn't have to. It doesn't solve the problem with those specific folders. I guess I will post it to the bugs. Thanks for commiserating!

This sounds like an issue with tracker not building the thumbnails. Also please remember that if you tag a picture days after taking it, then that is the date the pic will be stored with, not the original.
